Microsoft Monthview Control 6.0 (sp4)
Find out steps to fix How To: Microsoft Monthview Control 6.0.
Hi I have a client who uses the date picker from Microsoft MonthView Control 6.0 (SP6) in Windows 7 64BIT & Office 2010. They are unable to use the spreadsheets with the macros for the date picker as they receive an error “Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found” Colleagues using the same setup with Microsoft MonthView Control 6.0 (SP4) are fine and don't get the error and the macros work fine. I have tried unregistering the mscomct2.ocx file in the c: windows syswow64 folder and hen copying over the corresponding file from the 'working system' into the folder and registering that file, but it still picks it up as SP6 rather than SP4. Searching for answers on the web o the error leads to Security bulletins:MS08-070, but this was from 2008 and directed towards Vista and earlier OS's Any ideas on what I can try from this point? My experience is that Excel automatically updates references when older ones are specified. A possible option is my free 'Get Your Own Date' excel add-in for xl97 thru xl2010 only. It does not use the monthview control, only a standard userform with standard controls. It is designed to for 32 or 64 bit applications, but I have no feedback from any 64 bit users. It would have to be installed on each computer (as an add-in); but it is simple to access by right-clicking any cell. It can also add a month or year calendar to a worksheet with one click.
